Dick Yarbrough is in his tenth year as a syndicated newspaper columnist, with no shortage of strong opinions. His weekly column appears throughout Georgia, reaching some one million households per week. He was recently named by Georgia Trend Magazine to their “Who’s Who Among Georgia Columnists.”

Dick retired as vice president of BellSouth Corporation in 1993. He then joined the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games as managing director – communications and government relations, reporting directly to Billy Payne, the organization’s CEO. In recognition of his career, PR WEEK magazine named him one of the One Hundred Most Influential Public Relations Practitioners of the 20th Century.

Dick Yarbrough is a graduate of the University of Georgia, past president of the national alumni association, has been named the university’s Outstanding Alumnus and has a room named in his honor at the Grady College of Journalism there. He also has four grandsons, including Zack, who is a junior at Georgia Tech. Proving God has a sense of humor.
